JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Our Document Control Specialists are an important role in reviewing medical documents for approval and assigning part numbers in control systems.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED
 
* Assigns document part numbers and groups appropriately.
* Receives documents for approval in control systems and ensures meets with required specifications.
* Receives and stores the master copy of controlled documents.
* Assures that proper security is provided for each document and record.
* Audits controlled documents within the facility, makes corrections as needed and compiles the audit report.
* Updates computer system with approved data and makes decisions regarding which data is to be entered into the correct table.
* Archives hard copy and electronic files making recommendations for deletion at the end of the retention period.
* Performs other related duties and tasks as required.
 
SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
* Education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma with 2+ years of related experience in medical records.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively and to work with others as a team member.
* Good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
* Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.
