Litigation Legal Assistant

Experienced Litigation Legal Assistant needed to provide high-level legal and administrative support to multiple Partners and Associates of top-notch law firm.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process state and federal court filings; knowledge of electronic filing requirements and software required
  • Transcribe dictated pleadings, correspondence, and time entries  Review, organize and index documents
  • Draft, file and monitor documents in electronic case sites
  • Maintain and organize documents in document management system
  • Oversight of attorneys’ billing procedures (including time entry, editing and invoicing)
  • Docket crucial litigation deadlines; coordinate with attorney’s calendar
  • Establish and manage new client files
  • Perform clerical tasks (including drafting letters, memos, emails and other correspondence)
  • Submit check requests, expenses reports, etc.
  • Some overtime may be required on evenings or weekends

Essential Skills:
  • At least 4 years of litigation experience
  • Familiarity with basic pleadings, service of process requirements, and discovery
  • Software Proficiencies: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe, Dictation software and equipment, iManage (or similar document management system), Elite 3E (or similar legal billing software)
  • Knowdedge of eBilling and law firm billing procedures
  • Knowledge of state and federal filing rules and procedures 
  • Ability to edit and proofread documents
  • Ability to learn new and/or updated technology with ease
  • Must be reliable, punctual and good attendance
