Defense Paralegal

***Legal assistant/paralegal with billable hour experience is required to apply.


Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently manage the litigation calendar, including discovery deadlines, hearings, and appointments.
  • Organize a high volume of cases on a daily basis.
  • Keep track of billable hours.
  • Proficiently draft requests and responses to discovery, motions, pleadings, demands, and correspondence.
  • E-file state and federal pleadings and motions.
  • Document, organize, and prepare trial files.
  • Maintain professional interactions with clients.
  • Organize the office filing system.
  • Handle scanning, faxing, and emailing tasks.
Requirements:
  • Experience with federal and state e-filing.
  • Proficiency in interpreting local state and federal rules for calculating and calendaring deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate with multiple attorneys.
  • Capacity to follow directions, solve problems independently, and produce quality work with minimal errors daily.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook).
  • Comfortable with technology, including cloud-based client management software (e.g., Filevine).
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Spanish bilingualism is advantageous but not required.
