Legal Assistant

National law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its Fayetteville office. This role provides administrative support to multiple attorneys and works closely with a collaborative team in the litigation department. The ideal candidate is a skilled legal support professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, proofread, and format documents, correspondence, and memoranda to firm standards

  • Use the firm’s document management and email systems for document organization and workflow

  • Manage electronic and physical client files, including copying, scanning, and organizing

  • Accurately enter attorney time and expenses in the firm’s software and track deadlines

  • Answer phones, handle client communications, and support attorney needs

  • Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, court appearances, and docket matters

  • File pleadings with courts, including use of e-filing systems

  • Coordinate attorney travel and business itineraries

  • Assist with attorney continuing legal education records and bar memberships

  • Provide additional administrative support as needed

Qualifications – Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage large amounts of information

  • Able to work well under deadlines and prioritize multiple assignments

  • Detail-oriented with excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with attorneys, clients, and staff

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of legal terminology and litigation procedures

Qualifications – Education & Experience

  • High school diploma (college degree preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years of legal experience

  • Litigation and trial preparation experience preferred

Position Details

  • Location: Fayetteville, AR (in-office position)

  • Compensation: $45,000–$55,000 DOE
