Seeking LPN who is self-motivated and enjoys a fast-paced work environment to join our team in our patient call center.
Responsibilities include providing patient care assistance through phone calls and the completion of tasks from physicians, surgeons and nurse practitioners. The position utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill and competence in a specialized patient care center. Works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, clinic and support staff to provide compassionate, quality patient care.
  • Accepts phone calls from patients, hospitals, & outside physician offices regarding procedure preparation, medications, symptoms, clinical questions, progress reports and labs
  • Follows protocols developed by physicians & staff
  • Communicates effectively and courteously with clinical staff, patients, families and other providers
  • Completes referrals to outside referral sources for consultation and follow up
  • Efficiently schedules patient procedures, lab work and tests as ordered, and provides results as directed
  • Calls in prescriptions (new and refills) and coordinates prior authorizations as required
  • Provides patient education materials and medication samples as directed
  • Reviews history and medications with patient to ascertain correct prep for patient
  • Effectively communicates with patient and/or family providing education on test date/time, arrival time, prep, location of tests and insurance pre-certification process
  • Listens to patient concerns and answers questions effectively and professionally
  • Accurately documents appropriate information in patient’s EMR
  • Handles pre-certifications as needed
  • Assist patients with enrollment and re-enrollment in patient assistance programs
  • Assures that physician and nurse practitioner dictation are signed and mailed appropriately
