Surgical Nurse - PRN Pool

We are currently recruiting for proven and experienced Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in a pain/surgical setting for week day shifts for the PRN Pool.

LPN duties include, but are not limited to: 
  • Assist patients with managing their medications, obtaining new prescriptions and refills, and answering medication questions as necessary
  • Perform venipuncture, maintain site and administer IV medications as ordered
  • Draw blood, perform accuchecks, and urinalysis; prepare various specimens for transport while maintaining a clean, orderly clinical environment
  • Perform procedures and treatments as ordered including, but not limited to wound care, small volume nebulizer (SVN) treatments, oxygen, ECG and assisting providers with procedures
  • Assist with maintenance of exam rooms by restocking, checking expiration dates, and cleaning exam tables between patients
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records

RN duties include, but are not limited to: 
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Performs appropriate treatments and therapies as ordered by physician in an appropriate and timely fashion. 
  • Provides patient and family teaching individualized to consider the developmental age of the patient. 
  • Initiates discharge and patient / family education planning with proper documentation on the patient record.
 
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Nurse must have a minimum of (3) five years current Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse hospital/acute care/surgical/orthopedic experience an must possess all the necessary skills and certifications/ credentials necessary to function in the units designated.
