HR Assistant

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  •  Process employment applications
  •  Maintain employee files and electronic records
  •  Answer phone calls from employees and applicants
  •  Assist in benefit administration by processing enrollments, changes and terminations
  •  Provide information and answer questions regarding benefits and policies
  •  Prepare new hire packets and policy and procedure manuals
  •  Schedule interviews, testing, physical exams and drug tests
  •  Respond to internal and external requests for information

Skills: 
Knowledge of HR practices and procedures
Knowledge of HRIS or ATS preferred
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information 
Advanced organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and meet deadlines as well as manage frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills with attention to detail in composing and proofing materials
Excellent telephone and oral communication skills
Ability to detect and resolve problems
Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

High School education or equivalent
1-2 years' experience in Human Resources 
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook

Hours will primarily be 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.
