SUMMARY
Interpret and carry out physician/clinician orders, assess client needs, exercise nursing judgment in client care, provide leadership and assistance in health services, and participate as an active, integral member of the health care team. The staff nurse must display initiative and follow-through on duties with relatively little guidance; retain all confidentiality in client-related matters; be able to assist in identifying the changing needs of the health center; support the team concept of a health center staff; and maintain a professional working relationship with clinicians, co-workers and clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Respond to telephone calls, questions related to client care concerns requiring nursing judgment.
  • Competently utilize the patient information system and practice management software.
  • Obtain and review complete client medical history.
  • Provide appropriate and accurate client education, including medication education to clients for prescribed medications.
  • Administer/dispense prescribed oral/inject-able medications and supplies, insuring proper labeling of all prescribed medication.
  • Participate in client follow-up regarding abnormal test results, referrals, appointments, etc.
  • Complete routine lab tests including, but not limited to measuring and documenting client height, weight, and blood pressure.
  • Maintain cleanliness and inventory of the lab areas, recovery room and exam areas.
  • Perform invasive procedures as prescribed, i.e. injections, TB testing, and venipuncture.
  • Consult with clinician/physician regarding client care/concerns as needed.
  • Begin and monitor intravenous flow of medication(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Arkansas.
  • CPR/BLS certified.
  • Possess minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • Ability to work in a cost effective, efficient, flexible and customer service-oriented manner.
