Job Duties:

This position assists with legal research, investigates facts, provides clerical support, and prepares documents to assist counsel.

  1. Researches and analyzes law sources such as statues, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.
  2. Prepares and files legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and other legal documents for review, approval, and use by counsel.
  3. Attends client meetings, hearings, and trials as requested.
  4. Investigates factual evidence of cases and performs client interviews.
  5. Routine acquisition and organization of information from various private and public entities (AWCC, SSA, DWS, the VA, various courts, employers, healthcare providers, etc.)
  6. Conducts routine written discovery.
  7. Communicates with clients and opposing counsel regarding various issues.
  8. Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining attorney’s calendar, providing information to callers, taking dictation, composing, and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail.
  9. Other duties that may be assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Paralegal certification preferred but not required.
