Our client is looking for a Pediatric Nurse to assist in the examination and treatment of patients under direction of physician or mid-level provider.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, head circumference on infants, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
Serves as a patient chaperone per policy.
Prepares equipment and assists Physician/Provider during treatment and examination of patient.
Administers prescribed medications, injections and treatments in accordance with policies/procedures.
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician/Provider of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve health information.
Maintains accurate, complete, and timely patient records Schedules tests and procedures for ancillary services.
Obtains appointments with referring physicians and initiates the referral process when PCP is referring to a specialist for tests.
Completion of CMA/RMA or LPN program required
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
