National law firm seeking a skilled Legal Assistant for their Fayetteville office. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide administrative support to multiple attorneys and work alongside a team of other staff members within the litigation department.
Job Duties:
- Type and edit legal documents and correspondence from handwritten, typed drafts or materials
- Answer telephones and handle client matters through telephone and email
- Organize, correlate and edit drafts
- Scan documents and send/receive via email
- Maintain attorney time and expense records
- Maintain attorney calendars
- File pleadings with the various courts, including online filing systems
- Maintain client files and transcripts
- Arrange business itineraries by coordinating travel reservations
- Read and route incoming and internal mail; assemble large mailings
- Proofread documents for changes to be made before the final copy is produced
Job Requirements:
- High School (or equivalent) required; college preferred
- Previous legal experience required
- Litigation and trial preparation experience preferred
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word and other Office 2010 products
- Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude to interface with lawyers, clients and staff in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to handle the workload for multiple attorneys
